Didcot Boys

Posted by Rob Tutton on April 21, 2008, 1:10 pm

This game was 2nd against 3rd in the League and was alway's going to be close but not this close !

First Game 1-0

Team:Kieron Massingham,Joesph Hastings,Tremayne Barrett,Lester Davies,Lochie Craig,Malcolm Blinder,Leyton Brandon.

Very evenly contested game with both teams creating chances at both ends with OCC having a couple of guilt edged chances that should have added to the scoreline, Tremayne Barrett half volley in the second half after a corner dropped in the box to him to then finish powerfully.

Second Game 2-2

Team:Jack Tutton,Millie Hankinson,Thomas Van Gucci,Cameron Innes,Robbie Morton,Ross McMahon,Jamie Smith(Ben Smith just after halftime) Sub:Ben Smith.

This game saw OCC go two goals down in the first half, one from a throw in, decision error, and the other from us just being a sleep from a restart, which we have now learnt from today and the players will have now learnt something new to remember in future and to keep concentration at all times. Chances for both teams were in plenty supply. The Second half saw OCC come out with all guns blazing and equalised quickly through Jack Tutton, Cameron Innes added the winner to secure the 3 points.

Overall Score OCC 3 - 2 Didcot Boys

The League winners or Runners up positions will be decided in the next couple of weeks with the League being won or lost on goal difference or by the odd few points. The Didcot Away fixture a week Saturday will decide ours and Didcots season in one game as only one point currently between us, which shows just how close the top four clubs are in this league and have all won or lost against each other during the season on different days.

See you all Wednesday for training and keep enjoying it.

Radley

This game between these two excellent sides is one that always produces good football, passion, and a fantastic work rate from both teams, We lost the home match earlier in the season 0-1 and 0-3 on a day when we were beaten by a better team on that day, and we just didn't perform to our usual high standards, Saturday was a stern test and we showed what great character this team has and the belief the players do have.

First Game Radley 0 OCC 1 (Leyton Brandon)

Team:Kieron Massingham,Tate Rogers,Tremayne Barrett,Lester Davies,Malcolm Blinder,Lochie Craig,Leyton Brandon.

This game saw both teams seeing a fair share of possession with OCC producing a couple more chances which we failed to take.Goalie Kieron Massingham kicked the ball to Leyton Brandon who popped up in the second half with a shot which was knocked into the side netting by a Radley defender after passing the goalie, Great all round display of defending and attacking with a great understanding of positioning by all the players to be effective in the game.

Second Game Radley 0 OCC 1 (Cameron Innes)

Team:Jack Tutton,Millie Hankinson,Thomas Van Gucci,Cameron Innes,Ross McMahon,Robbie Morton,Jamie Smith,James Oliver.

This team carried on with great effort and Radley created chances that troubled our goal and we looked very nervous at corners, which were a mass of bodies with the ball being blocked or cleared eventually. We got back playing attacking football and created some chances of our own, which resulted in Cameron Innes crossing the ball goal bound and a defender heading the ball in the goal.

A Third Game was played and Radley won 1-0 to ensure that all the players played at least 30 minutes of football and the Goalies had a run out on pitch.

All the players worked so hard for this result on Saturday morning and have really been very consistent all season, this result means that the league could be won by one of three teams, the teams will only be separated by goal difference or a handful of points at the end of the season depending on other results. We now look back at the three games we have lost and the one we have drawn out of 42 games in the two team league to see what the players have really achieved this season and how close the top four clubs are in this league. The team reached the Semi final of the Cup as well and they will continue to progress playing good football in the right spirit and with a smile on their faces for many more years.

Thank you to Kieron Powell and Toby Brown for helping me out on Saturday morning with the warm up and shooting whilst I was messing about with the team sheet and trying to get organised !.

See you all at training Wednesday at Court Farm 6pm - 7pm.
